Jan and Jonos: A Spirits of the Force Fan-Fic

Jan was a rebel agent. Tough. Determined. She fired heavy artillary, knocked the sense out of grown men, and flew space ships into battle.

It was different with Jonos. With him she was soft lines and curves. She was just a girl. In love.

That all changed when she got the transmission. Mon Mothma told her about the massacre. Some detail struck her. It jogged a memory of something she had overheard. And she knew.

Just like that, she shifted. Despite her soft hair flowing around her face and silky robes draped over her form, she was hard lines and angles. She was a rebel agent. A soldier. And it was a soldier that burst into Jonos's office that evening.

"Tell me you didn't do it!" Jan demanded through a clenched jaw. There was no question in his eyes. And no denial.

He tried to justify. He explained how this one contact, this one job and he would be finished. He would have all the money they needed. She could leave the rebellion. He could quit smuggling. They could go off together. Buy a small moon. Live out their lives in peace and luxury.

She used to smile when Jonos talked about buying a moon. She used to laugh and show him which one she wanted. Not tonight. Everything that made her happy with him- the laughter, the love- had vanished.

She left. And with her Jonos saw all his visions for the future disapear with the breaking dawn. He saw his home with a family. A pet. Someplace peaceful and green. A life away from the war. That morning she flew away with it all.
